Apple Picking!

Get your youngsters ready to pick a peck of plump, delicious apples. OK, so you might not really need 10.5 pounds (i.e., an entire peck) of apples, but your youngsters can still enjoy picking some anyway! Apple season is in full swing, so why not head over to County Line Orchard in Hobart, Ind. or Apple Holler in Sturtevant, Wis. Just remind your kids, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away!”

New Lenox Park District Big Bad Pumpkin Race 9/25

On your marks. Get set. GO! Your little ones have the chance to race in New Lenox Park District’s Big Bad Pumpkin Races! So turn off those video games, and get ready to spend the day outside. With relay races and other fun activities, your kids won’t want this play day to end! Registration ends Wednesday, Sept. 21. Click here for more information, and click here to register. Why: Just because it’s cooling off outside doesn’t mean your kids can’t still play out there! Where: Walker Park at Liberty Junior High School, 151 Lenox St., New Lenox. Jurassic Junior event

What youngster doesn’t like dinosaurs! Whether or not your kids watch the “Jurassic Park” flicks over and over again, chances are they dig these prehistoric creatures. So don’t miss out on the Jurassic Junior event at the Frankfort Public Library! Your kids will become mini-paleontologists for the day as they explore the mysterious world of dinosaurs and embark on a dino dig. Click here for more information.
